DYMO Mimio Interactive Teaching Technologies Training: Mazapan School, La Ceiba, Honduras
- October, 2010/November-December 2011
Technology is ever changing and it is becoming more important to use technology in the classroom as a way to engage student learning. I had the opportunity to pilot the MIMO Interactive Board program at Mazapan for the elementary school.
I completed training with experts from DYMO Mimio to learn how to use the interactive white board and the different features that are accompanied with it.
In November 2011, I taught a training course to fellow colleagues who were receiving a MIMIO interactive board for their classroom. I went through specific features on the MIMIO Board while following an adapted presentation from DYMO to fit my colleagues needs.
In December 2011, I created and presented a presentation with a fellow colleague to parents about the advantages of having a MIMIO board in each classroom at Mazapan School. We showed example lessons taught to students using the MIMIO board and we explained why technology is so important in the classroom. Parents were able to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
